1) Introduction:-
Welcome to the AmigaDOS Guide V1.5 the latest release from OZ P.D. Let me
start by saying that This DOS Guide is purely a reference guide and not some
indepth manual so please do not expect pages and pages of information on
each command etc. Also please note that this program is `Freeware' which
means that if you should copy it then please make sure you copy all the
files on the disk including this document and not just the main program.
If you have any comments, queries or ideas that you would like to make then
please send them to me at the address at the end of this document. Any
feedback would be much appreciated.
2) Loading/Installation:-
AmigaDOS Guide V1.5 must be loaded through Workbench, and will only work on
systems with Workbench 2.0 and above. Before you can load AmigaDOS Guide
you must follow this simple installation process:
-You will notice a drawer on the AmigaDOS Guide disk labelled
"FONTS". Open this drawer and leave it to one side.
-Now find your Workbench Fonts disk and insert into any drive.
-Drag all the files from the AmigaDOS Guide Fonts Drawer to the
Workbench Fonts disk.
-Now click on the ADOS V1.5 icon to load AmigaDOS Guide V1.5 and
insert your Workbench Fonts disk when prompted.
3) Using AmigaDOS Guide V1.5:-
Below is a list of explanations as to what the headings mean once you have
clicked on an AmigaDOS Command, Error, Application or Workbench 3.0 prog:
ADOS Commands/Applications.
When you have selected your chosen command or application you are presented
with the following headings:
-USE
This is where you will find a simple overview of why that particular
command was included into AmigaDOS.
-PATH
This part tells you where in your system you will find your chosen
command or application.
-SYSTEM
Under the system heading you will find information on what AmigaDOS
revision your chosen command or application is availible under and also
where changes have been made.
-EXAMPLES
This part will give you a few examples of how the command or application
should be written on the Amigas CLI/SHELL.
-NOTES
This is where I have put relevent notes which I feel will be useful to
you.
ADOS Errors.
Under ADOS Errors the following headings are present:
-DESCRIPTION
This basically gives you a small description of what the error means.
-ADOS CODE
The AmigaDOS code given to that particular error.
-REMEDY
A short note on how to overcome the error or prevent it from occuring
again.
Workbench 3.0 Programs.
This is a feature I included for version 1.5 and basically provides an
overview of what most of the Workbench programs do and what features and
options they contain. Under Workbench 3.0 Progs you will find the following
headings:
-USE
Again like the commands and application documents is gives a small
description of why the program was placed on Workbench.
-FEATURES
This is where most of the programs options and features are mentioned.
Basically what it can do.
4) Update Info:-
the following enhancements have been made to AmigaDOS Guide for version 1.5:
-The inclusion of another topic (Workbench 3.0 programs).
-Enhanced interface, now includes a SHELL key to access the
CLI/SHELL window directly.
-The program is now fully compatable with Workbench 2 and 3.
This means that is is now 100% error free.

and enhancements made where necessary.
